Cargo Ship Crashes into Front Yard

Are you a sound sleeper? If so, this may happen to you. Imagine waking up to a giant cargo ship in your front yard! 

Johan Helberg lives in Trondheim, Norway. A charming town nestled on the banks of a majestic Fjord – imagine Arendelle, from the Disney movie Frozen. Johan has a house right on the water; his front yard literally overlooks the majestic blue waves.

It’s the middle of May 2025 and Johan is sound asleep when his neighbor starts ringing the doorbell nonstop. Begrudgingly, Johan gets out of bed, opens the door and that’s when the neighbor asks if he’s okay. Bewildered, Johan looks out of his window and that’s when realized what all the fuss was about. A bright green, 135 meter long (442 foot long) cargo ship had plowed into Johan’s front yard and ran aground. 

According to police, an investigation was launched to determine how in the world the ship ended up in Johan’s yard, but they say, there was no suspicion of anyone being under the influence of drugs or alcohol when it happened.

So, what happened to the ship? Did Johan get his yard back? To everyone’s delight, the ship was refloated at high tide.
